Job Summary: Under the direction of Director of Patient Experience, the incumbent serves as a Medical Interpreter for patients, providers and staff and supports the operation of the department. Relays medical information between speakers of two different languages in compliance with all CNE system and hospital policies and procedures, supporting patient confidentiality, patient dignity and informed consent. Explains hospital resources, clinical procedures, office or clinic protocols, and facilitates verbal communication between clinicians and patients. Serves as a cultural and linguistic resource. Performs duties in a spirit of teamwork and cooperation.

Specifications: High School Degree or equivalent with an approved certification in medical translation required. Must demonstrate proficiency as a medical interpreter in a healthcare setting. Experience demonstrating high level of interpersonal skills, both oral and written, analytical skills, organizational skills and effectiveness within a team environment. Must possess strong cultural awareness competencies, linguistic and interpreting skills and ethical competency. Experience working in a fast-paced environment preferred. Must be able to travel between locations without limitations.
