Primary Function
Responsible for administering electrocardiograms, applying Holter monitors and carrying out various office and clerical duties.
Responsibilities
Perform electrocardiograms daily for emergency and routine care to inpatients and outpatients.
Apply Holter monitor to patients explaining how they are used.
Edit all EKG reports and transcribe all Holter and echocardiogram reports.
Assist RNs with stress and nuclear testing.
Act as preceptor in training new staff members.
Schedule cardiology testing for inpatients and outpatients.
Input medical data into the computer for billing purposes.
Generate and prepare unedited EKG reports daily for interpretation by cardiologist.
Maintain and clean equipment and prepare it for the next shift.
Transports patients to and from room for testing.
Perform all other related duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications and Specifications
Vocational/technical training and a minimum of six months job-related experience or equivalent is required.
