Job Summary:

The CPD Certified Technician performs all reprocessing activities involving instruments, supplies, and equipment used for patient care. Receives, collects, and transports contaminated instruments and supplies. Operates and cleans all department equipment, and performs all sterilization monitoring activities. Serves as a resource to other department members and to other hospital staff as needed, and performs other job-related duties as requested.

Specifications:

High School graduate or equivalent. Certification as a Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) through IAHCSMM required. Certification is a process which validates that a high level of knowledge, skills and education has been attained. One year previous experience in central processing operations preferred. Must be able to effectively communicate with other department members and hospital staff. Proficiency in the English language required.
