Job Summary: The Coordinator is responsible for assisting with the development of programs and initiatives for quality monitoring and performance improvement throughout the organization. Provides performance and quality management training and education on patient safety. Assists the nursing staff with the development of best practices and guides the implementation of evidence based practice where applicable. Assists with the publication of performance improvement and patient safety initiatives. Provides education and assists with audit requirements for all regulatory bodies. Provides education as to the skills required to develop programs that focus on improved outcomes of patient care or healthcare delivery systems. Assists with the development of guidelines, criteria, and clinical indicators, which are applied to measure quality of care. Identifies and assists with data collection which can be used to measure quality. Assists departments in evaluating data and implementing change in same where necessary.

Specifications: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree required, Masters in Nursing or related field preferred with at least five to seven years related experience. Must have and maintain current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Rhode Island. Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be proficient in personal computer use. Must be proficient in the English language.
