Job Summary:

The Providence Center Mobile Crisis On-Call Clinician After Hours will work on a multidisciplinary team providing behavioral health and crisis assessment to consumers in the community. Provide triage and assessment services for individuals in the community experiencing a psychiatric or substance related crisis.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide individual mental health and/or substance abuse treatment and crisis assessment.

Adhere to on-call scheduling nature of role and subsequently respond in-person for crisis assessments accompanied by a peer; Minimum requirement of 2 shifts per month.

Respond within one-hour to in-person referrals initiated by after hours call staff.

Treat consumers with respect.

Perform in a calm and professional manner during crisis or emergency situations.

Maintain confidentiality in accordance with TPC policy and legal requirements.

Develop and implement a plan of care with ongoing consumer input.

Apply knowledge of psychopathology and primary methodologies of psychotherapy.

Apply knowledge of Psychiatric Diagnosis (DSM V).

Assess clinical emergencies, including suicide and danger to others both in the community and client homes.

Develop and present, verbally and in writing, a clear clinical formulation based on behavioral data and relevant theory while incorporating psychosocial and family issues.

Identify specific therapeutic interventions appropriate for specific problems.

Provide psychotherapy and supportive counseling, short term.

Use psychiatric consultation and intervention when clinically appropriate.

Use knowledge to decide appropriate levels of care in order to refer to various points in the continuum of care.

Collaborate with other providers, agencies, and individuals in the consumers' network of care.

Maintain knowledge and familiarity of mental health and/or substance abuse and other related community agencies.

Communicate with various local agencies and individuals, as well as with Center staff.

Perform record keeping in accordance with Health Information Services and other Center requirements.

Attend trainings, case presentations and conferences.

Attend mandatory in-service trainings and other trainings required for renewal of licensure.

Maintain cooperative relationships with Center staff, consumers, community agencies and the public.

Requirements:

Master’s degree in Clinical Counseling, Social Work, or related field; Nursing degree with RN; QMHP required.

Ability to write reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively with consumers, community agencies and Center employees.

Insured auto and valid driver's license. LICSW or LMHC preferred but not required. RN required from nursing candidates. QMHP required.
