Job Summary: The Peer Recovery Specialist Part Time provides one-on-one recovery coaching support services to Anchor members both in person and telephonically. They will help with the day-to-day operations of the community center, signing up new members as needed and helping to ensure smooth operation of the center.
Part Time, 22.5 hours per week: Monday-Friday, Days (could be 3 full days per week or 4 or 5 shorter days per week).
Location: Warwick Anchor - 890 Centerville Road
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide individual recovery support.
Facilitate recovery support groups.
Facilitate skills development, through educational training sessions.
Provide information and referrals for community based resources.
Help lead activities and events, in-house and in community settings.
Ensures safety for all participants, by following policies and procedures.
Serve as advocate for program participants and assist them to develop self-advocacy skills.
Complete all required documentation clearly and on time.
Communicate effectively and respectfully with all program participants and coworkers; and with community partners.
Maintain positive relationships.
Complete all trainings as assigned.
Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements: Candidate must demonstrate an understanding and belief in the recovery process .
Must be a person with lived recovery experience, with minimum 2 years of continuous recovery .
Must be at least 21 years old. High School diploma or GED required.
Use of personal vehicle is required.
Certified Peer Recovery Specialist Certification or willing to obtain within a year of employment.
Understanding of community resources and recovery oriented systems of care model.
MUST have a valid driver's license, registration and proper auto insurance.
This is a part-time position 22.5 hours a week.
