Job Summary:

Responsible for coordinating and maintaining surgical schedules for the practice. Coordinates with hospitals to arrange for patient pre-op testing, medical clearances. Responsible for triaging phone calls appropriately and maintaining the Physician’s weekly schedule, including coordinating academic meetings and travel arrangements.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Maintains surgical schedules for the practice. Obtains authorizations when needed.

Coordinates with hospitals to schedule and arrange all patient pre-op testing, medical clearances, etc.

Triages patient phone calls appropriately for office visits, tests, surgeries, and other encounters.

Prepares patients’ charts and files related patient records.

Contact and confirm dates and time of procedures with patients.

Maintains Physician’s weekly schedule. Coordinates academic meetings, including travel arrangements.

Performs all other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

High school diploma required.

Minimum of six months job related experience or equivalent is required.

Ability to deal with and maintain confidential information.

Familiarity with medical terminology and ability to calculate and collect cash transactions.
