Job Summary: Assists Director in the operation and management of the Department of Pharmacy.

Responsibilities: Interprets and transcribes when necessary all medication orders from the physician’s order sheet and medication profile.

Maintains adequate skills in the use of the Pharmacy computer software (Pharmnet), hospital computer software (Avatar), as well as the electronic medication distribution system (Pyxis).

Performs the Medication Reconciliation functions in Patient Assessment.

Verifies and checks all entries on the medication profile for accuracy and completeness.

Monitors patients’ medication profiles for appropriateness of drug therapy, irrational dosing and dose forms, drug interactions and contra-indications for use.

Requirements:

Education: Graduate of an accredited College of Pharmacy.

Training and Experience: Registered or eligible for registration in the State of Rhode Island. Board Certification in Psychopharmacology is encouraged.

Schedule: Per Diem, employees who agree to be available 6 shifts per month, including 2 weekends shifts.
