Primary Function: Responsible for providing quality DSA and cut film radiographs which entail the least amount of radiation or contrast injection to the patient.
Responsibilities:
-Set up and operate all radiographic equipment, including the integrated computer system and corresponding hardware.
-Process, examine and evaluate radiographs. Prepare radiographs for final interpretation by radiologists and surgeons.
- Assist the Radiologist with performing certain procedures, including film programming and contrast injection.
- Prepare instruments, guidewires, catheters, syringes and injectors using a sterile technique.
- Position the patient to assist the radiologist with obtaining the best possible view of the affected area.
-Greet and reassure the patient. Explain the exam in a way to put the patient at ease. Prepare and drape the patient prior to the exam using sterile technique.
- Respond to after-hour call backs on an emergency basis.
- Performs all other related duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications and Specifications: An Associate’s degree in Radiologic Technology and a minimum of one year’s job-related experience or equivalent is required. CPR certification is required. Registration from the ARRT is also required.
