Job Summary:
The Providence Center Assistant Manager Women’s Road to Recovery will perform, coordinate, and monitor the daily non-clinical operations of the program.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Supervise the daily roles and responsibilities of Resident Assistants.
Responsible for hiring, training, and ongoing supervision of RA’s.
Provide leadership to Resident Assistants regarding day-to-day matters.
Provide orientation and training to new RA staff. Develop RA schedule.
Monitor staffing to ensure 24-hour coverage and arrange RA weekly schedules. Monitor daily shift activity.
Monitor vacant RA positions and conduct interviews with qualified candidates.
Oversee physical maintenance of building. Conduct monthly fire drills, monitor refrigerator, first aid kits and other supplies.
Provide orientation of clients into the community.
Conduct tour of the facility and make introductions.
Problem solves and provides other support to clients as needed.
Provide clinical presence and oversight when program manager is out of the office.
Serve as a role model.
Assist in new client admissions.
Review rules and regulations, issue linens, assign bedrooms, sign appropriate releases, gather birth certificates and social security cards, etc.
Assist with the supervision of recreational activities.
Check daily client details and follow through on any unsatisfactory performance.
Assign daily client housekeeping assignments and assist clients in performing necessary housekeeping tasks.
Maintain an inventory of all client and office supplies.
Conduct toxicology testing for all clients as instructed by Program Manager. Administer breathalyzer test and collect urine for drug screens.
Ensure a safe, clean and healthy living environment.
Assist in conducting monthly/quarterly fire drills and send in reports.
Monitor client whereabouts during fire drills or emergencies.
Responsible for ensuring that all safety calendar items are completed each month.
Maintain order. Ensure the facility is safe from intruders. Report any deficiencies to manager.
Ensure medication procedures are followed.
Ensure clients are present at designated times to take prescribed medications.
Ensure information is logged appropriately. Transport clients in the agency vehicle or own vehicle when necessary.
Drive carefully and abide by traffic rules.
Ensure that seat belts are worn by all traveling in Center owned vehicles.
Perform record keeping in accordance with Health Information Services and other Center requirements.
Monitor confidentiality in accordance with Center policy and legal requirements.
Complete required reports and evaluations.
Complete monthly supervision meetings with all RA staff.
Together, with the Program Manager, address any staff performance issues by way of supervision, coaching/counseling, disciplinary action, and terminations.
Follow required office procedures in a cooperative manner.
Initiate and process incident reports as per Center guidelines.
Adhere to Infection Control protocols.
Maintain cooperative relationships with clients, other employees and the public. Attend trainings, case presentations and conferences.
Serve on appropriate Center committees.
Attend meetings and report committee activities to staff.
Other duties as assigned or required.
Requirements:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Advanced education preferred.
5+ years’ experience working with a substance abuse population.
Must have awareness of the general trends in confronting the problems of substance abuse.
Knowledge of psychosocial rehabilitation, psychotropic medication and case management. Strong program development skills.
Bilingual Spanish preferred.
Ability to speak effectively before team members and other employees and have the capacity to work with other community agencies.
Must have valid driver’s license, personal vehicle, and insured auto.
