Primary Function

The ambulatory pharmacy lead training technician provides integrated support to patients and pharmacists by providing a “hands-on” approach to total quality patient care. Completion of day-to-day pharmacy technician tasks; responsible for correct and thorough training of all new employees and students participating in the Tech Training Program. Serves as a leader to ensure that the work duties of technicians are assigned and completed accurately and timely as well as answering employee questions regarding departmental policies/procedures. Report problems, recognition of outstanding performance and personnel needs to the Ambulatory Pharmacy Operations Manager or Pharmacy Manager. Provides feedback to the Operations Manager and the Training Coordinator for students participating in the training program.

Job Qualifications and Specifications

Required Licensure/Certification: Applicant must be registered in the State of Rhode Island as a Pharmacy Technician. National certification as a CPhT.

Years of Experience: Required 1+ year, Preferred 5+ years’ experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
