Job Summary:
The Clinical Practice Coach demonstrates excellence in clinical nursing by serving as a professional role model and resource in the development of clinical nursing practice.
Assesses, plans, organizes, implements orientation, staff development and designs educational activities to address identified or anticipated needs of learners under the direction of the Clinical Practice Manager/Clinical Nurse Specialist and departmental leadership.
Collaborates with leadership and interdisciplinary teams to partner for practice transitions, improves the quality and safety of patient care, and encourages a culture of scientific inquiry and evidence based practice.
Aligns with the mission, vision and values, and strategic goals of the organization.
Requirements:
Bachelors of Science in Nursing required. Must have and maintain current licensure in the State of Rhode Island. A minimum of five years of clinical experience with a minimum of two years current experience in specialty nursing area, to be evaluated by supervisor.
Must have and maintain certifications required for clinical area, which may include ACLS certified, BLS certified, NRP certified. (If, NRP is required for clinical area, must obtain instructor status within the first year of employment). Certification in specialty area is desirable.
Excellent human relations and communication skills required., Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, and presentation computer software required. Teaching experience is highly desirable.
Minimum three up to seven years experience
ADA: Manual dexterity and mobility required. While performing the major responsibilities of this position, the incumbent must be able to regularly sit, stand or walk, and occasionally reach for prolonged periods of time. Must be able to lift, push, move and/or carry supplies or equipment up to 25 pounds, and occasionally be able to bend, stoop, crouch or kneel.
