Primary Function

Responsible for performing a variety of support services for Diagnostic department.

Responsibilities

• Assist modality staff in preparing room for patient exams, to include stocking and cleaning of area.
• Contacts appropriate medical facilities, nursing units and other healthcare providers to obtain pertinent patient information/prior exam reports required for testing of patients
• Distributes reports to physician offices and other healthcare providers as requested.
• Transports patients to maintain workflow and patient throughput when necessary.
• Assists patients to dressing areas if necessary.
• Assists with moving patients from stretcher to scanners/patient movement.
• Coordinates paperwork/reports on patients throughout the department and to Radiologists.
• Delivers oral contrast to other areas of the hospital for patient prep prior to testing.
• Performs all other related duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications and Specifications

A High School diploma required. Experience working with patients in a healthcare setting preferred.

Physical Environment

The job is typically required to exert physical effort by moving, lifting, carrying or pushing heavy materials/ objects most of the normal day. The job is also regularly requires to be exposed to a work environment which requires safety precautions to be taken.
