Job Summary:

The Providence Center (Lead) Teacher PreK Imagine Preschool will collaborate with Imagine Child Care Director to oversee Imagine Child Care Center daily routines, activities, and learning experiences. Supervise the implementation of and directly provide individually, culturally, and developmentally appropriate preschool curriculum within Imagine Child Care learning environments.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Coordinate and monitor the daily routines, schedules, and learning experiences in Imagine Child Care classrooms.

Provide supervision and professional guidance for classroom staff as they implement an individually, culturally, and developmentally appropriate preschool curriculum

Monitor and support development of positive relationships between classroom staff and families and children who attend Imagine Child Care Centers.

Support classroom staff in use of evidence-based practices supporting positive relationships, supportive learning environments, and the development of children’s social/emotional, language, physical and cognitive skills

Facilitate and support participation of CCRI students within the Imagine Child Care classrooms by building and maintaining collaborative relationships with CCRI faculty and administrative staff

Facilitate CCRI students active role in Imagine Child Care classrooms; once role is cooperatively determined with CCRI faculty

Support and model respectful collegial relationships within Imagine Child Care Center learning environments

Collaborate with Imagine Child Care Center Director to ensure Imagine Child Care classrooms are in compliance with day care licensing regulations

Collaborate with Imagine Child Care Center Director to gain and maintain state and national accreditation for Imagine Child Care Centers

Administer developmentally appropriate assessment tools to inform curriculum and guide learning of children in your classroom

Teach and collaborate with other educational staff to provide a high quality preschool curriculum guided by knowledge of children’s development, children’s interests and questions, ongoing assessment activities and regular parental input

Support inclusion of children with disabilities by participating in IEP meetings, modifying or adapting curriculum, and collaborating with special service providers

Provide consultation in the community as assigned

Treat children and families with respect

Serve as a liaison with community agencies

Maintain active involvement in professional organizations in the community

Monitor confidentiality in accordance with Center policy and legal requirements

Complete required reports and evaluations

Follow required office procedures in a cooperative manner.

Initiate and process incident reports as per Center guidelines.

Adhere to Infection Control protocols.

Transport consumers in own vehicle or Center van to planned activities and appointments.

Drive carefully and abide by traffic rules.

Ensure that seat belts are worn by all traveling in Center owned or employee owned vehicles.

Deal with team members regarding problems in a constructive manner.

Accept and use direction and supervision.

Benefit from constructive criticism.

Attend trainings and conferences

Provide feedback to staff on the content of educational programs attended

Attend mandatory inservice trainings and other trainings required

Participate in inservice training designed for preschool staff at The Center.

Serve on appropriate Center committees.

Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Hold a current appropriate RIDE Early Childhood certificate OR Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Early Childhood Special Education, Human Development, Child Development or related field from an accredited or approved Institution of Higher Education AND achieve the appropriate RIDE Early Childhood certificate within seven (7) years of employment.

Rhode Island Early Learning and Development Standard certificate relevant to this position OR an individual professional development plan not to exceed two (2) years from the date of employment for achieving this requirement.

Ongoing Professional Development TPC Imagine Preschool shall assure that each teacher shall have an individual professional development plan to complete at least twenty (20) hours of professional development related to the Workforce Knowledge and Competencies appropriate to 16 his/her position. This plan shall be developed and updated annually as part of each staff person’s annual performance evaluation.

Ability to speak effectively before groups of children and their families or Center employees.

Must have valid driver's license, registration, current inspection and insured automobile.
