The Union Sr. Business Office Representative is the key contact for patients requiring consultative, specialty and procedural services associated with the department of medicine to include but not limited to (GI, OB Medicine, Endocrinology Nutrition, and Endoscopy). The incumbent performs extensive computerized office and procedure scheduling duties, processes forms and paperwork, handles financial arrangements, provides clerical support, performs data entry, and other job-related duties. The incumbent serves as liaison between the patient and the Department of Medicine.
Specifications: Associates degree with three to five years experience in a health care environment, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be familiar with medical office and surgical booking procedures and medical terminology. Knowledge of Excel, Word, IDX, and Cerner required. Must have excellent secretarial, interpersonal and communications skills. Must be proficient in the English language, bi-lingual preferred.
Manual dexterity and mobility required. While performing the major responsibilities of this position, the incumbent must be able to regularly sit, stand or walk, and occasionally reach for prolonged periods of time. Must be able to lift, push, move and/or carry supplies or equipment up to 25 pounds, and occasionally be able to bend, stoop, crouch or kneel.
