Job Summary:

The CDOE RN, Diabetes Clinician assesses, educates, monitors & treats patients diagnosed with diabetes during pregnancy. Diabetes diagnoses' include Type 1 Diabetes, Type 2 Diabetes & Gestational Diabetes. The incumbent interviews patients and assesses diabetes status, provides instruction and education, and utilizes the electronic medical record for documentation and patient tracking/communication. The Diabetes Clinician RN Designs and implements educational programs and materials and serves as a resource for patients as well as staff.

Specifications:

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree required & Certification as a Certified Diabetes Outpatient Educator (CDOE) required. Master's Degree in Nursing with certification in diabetes education preferred. Must have at least five years experience in direct clinical care of patients. Must have and maintain current licensure in the State of Rhode Island. Strong communication and inter-personal skills necessary as well as fluency in the English language.
