TEMPORARY POSITION

Job Summary: The Correspondence Specialist is responsible for processing requests for medical information from various internal and external sources. Provides customer service and health information to the requesting party by mail, telephone, fax, and in person. Keeps abreast of and ensures compliance with current state, federal and hospital regulations regarding release and confidentiality of patient information. Assists the Risk Manager in court proceedings. Provides general office support and performs other job-related duties as requested.

Specifications: High School diploma required; Associates degree or at least two years of previous related experience required. Basic knowledge of medical terminology is required. Must have knowledge of word processing and other computer applications. Knowledge/experience in health information applications preferred. Knowledge of Release of Information regulatory requirements preferred. Must have excellent interpersonal skills, and possess good organizational skills. Must be proficient in communicating the English language. Must be able to work independently without supervision.
