Job Summary

A Pulmonary Function Test Technician is responsible for maintaining organization and work flow while performing Pulmonary Function Tests on patients. It is the policy of UPA to maintain professionalism at all times and respect for patients, peers, and supervisors.

Duties and Responsibilities

Explains specified methods of breathing to patient and conducts pulmonary-function tests.

Measures expired air, using various analyzers.

Observes and records readings on equipment and conveys findings of tests to physician for interpretation.

Completes reports after interpretations by physicians.

Calibrates, cleans and maintains equipment.

Orders supplies for Pulmonary Lab.

Any other duties assigned by management.

Requirements

Vocational/technical training.

Medical terminology required.

One year job-related experience or equivalent is required.

Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills required.

Knowledge of computers and word processing application required.
