Maintenance Helper

Job Summary:

The Providence Center Maintenance Helper will perform basic maintenance helper duties to include basic repairs and keep Center buildings in clean, attractive and orderly condition.

Duties and Responsibilities: include the following.

Perform general maintenance at Center locations:

Clean and disinfect rest rooms.

Vacuum individual offices.

Remove trash from all offices as needed.

Sweep reception areas, stairwells, hallways and outside areas.

Wash walls in offices after staff leave.

Wash, wax and buff floors.

Replace light bulbs, shovel snow, paint offices, perform minor plumbing, etc.

Paint designated areas neatly.

Collect recycled materials such as paper, cans, and newsprint and collect all paper to be shredded.

Collect Universal waste and store in authorized location.

Collect medical waste and store in authorized location.

Complete preventative maintenance tasks as assigned.

Load furniture onto and off of a Center truck.

Lift and move furniture into and out of various locations.

Move equipment and furnishings for staff.

Perform pest control prevention as directed.

Monitor stock levels of cleaning products and paper goods.

Maintain cleanliness of building exterior and garage.

Schedule repairs to HVAC equipment, automated doors, plumbing systems as directed.

Clean up upon completion of job.

Perform assigned duties in a timely manner.

Purchase parts and materials as directed.

Complete assigned work requests.

Other duties as assigned.

Comply with all CNE TPC policies.

Ensure the overall safety of the employee him/herself and the vehicle during the course of performing daily duties.

Drive carefully and abide by general traffic rules.

Ensure that seat belts are worn for all traveling in Center owned vehicles.

Report any accident or violations to the Maintenance Supervisor and Facilities Manager in a timely manner.

Complete necessary incident report in accordance with policy.

Participate in related safety training.

Maintain safe driving record in accordance with Center policy as a condition of continued employment.

Maintain cooperative relationships with other employees, consumers and the public.

Communicate effectively with staff, representatives of other agencies and the public.

Work in cooperation with co-workers and supervisory staff.

Deal with co-workers regarding problems in a constructive manner.
Attend mandatory in-service trainings and other trainings required.

Provide emergency support outside of normal work hours as required for maintenance of The Center.

Requirements: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Minimum of four years of relevant maintenance experience

Proficient with computers. Programs: Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Google

Insured auto required. Must have valid driver's license.
