Boiler Operator - New Rates!!

Primary Function:Responsible for the operation and maintenance of the Boiler Room. Maintain proper operating steam pressure at all times in the Hospital Boiler Room and the Ambulatory Services Pavilion boiler room.

This shift is 11pm-7am Thursday thru Monday with Tuesday and Wednesday off

Job Responsibilities:

-Maintain the safe operation of all boiler related equipment in the Hospital Boiler Room and Ambulatory Surgical Pavilion Boiler Room.

-Perform rounds and readings to ensure all equipment is operating properly and maintain the boiler shift log at all times.

-Respond to boiler, clinical air, medical vacuum and medical gas alarms in the Ambulatory Surgical Pavilion.

-Change out med gas cylinders as necessary in the Ambulatory Surgical Pavilion med gas room.

-Perform preventive maintenance tasks and make repairs on all equipment as assigned.

-Perform piping and steam fitting repairs as assigned.

-Maintain a clean and safe work environment at all times.

-Maintain proper water chemistry in the boilers at all times.

-Ensure proper communication takes place during shift changes.

-Performs all other related duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications and Specifications: A High School Diploma and Valid Stationary Operating Engineers License required. Have a minimum of four year’s job-related experience or equivalent is required. The ability to be flexible with the work schedule to assist with shift coverage for Personal Time Off, leave of Absence, Shutdowns and Emergency Repairs as assigned and required.

Must have a Rhode Island Boiler Operators License or Rhode Island Stationary Engineer License.
