Job Summary:

The Nurse Manager is accountable for ensuring excellence in patient care, nursing practice, and unit-based operations in the clinical program which s/he manages and, as such, is a key member of the nursing leadership team and the Hospital management team. The Manager translates the mission, vision, and goals of the Department of Nursing, the Hospital, and the System into daily operations to ensure that each patient and family experiences excellent care provided by highly competent clinical staff. She/he develops and sustains a practice community where the primary focus is on the patient and family and nursing practice is continuously strengthened and extended. Simultaneously, the Manager actively participates in efforts designed to ensure the health and long-term viability of the Hospital and the System. The Nurse Manager is grounded in clinical practice and has expert skills in management and leadership. S/he consistently demonstrates strong ethical comportment and integrity. The Manager models professional behavior, colleagueship, and respect when partnering with physician colleagues and other Hospital leaders to facilitate the ability of clinical staff to do the mission-critical work of the organization. The scope of this position requires that the manager demonstrate an understanding of, and a commitment to quality health care for women and infants.

Requirements:

Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN) required, Masters degree or proof of academic achievement toward a Masters degree in Nursing or related field and must be currently enrolled in a Masters program with a targeted date of completion preferred.

Current licensure with the State of Rhode Island as a registered nurse.
