The Mental Health Worker/C.N.A provides role as patient advocate through his/ /her own role modeling of standards of performance and by communicating and meeting patients’ needs for service. Assists registered nurses in direct care of patients, specifically patients’ activities of daily living. Insures a safe and therapeutic environment on the unit through observation monitoring, interacting and providing/assisting in groups. Recognizes that patient satisfaction is an important priority, Adheres to Butler Hospital Service Standards.

Responsibilities:

Attends orientation, work-related educational workshops, and staff meetings.

Meets with Manager for supervision as needed.

Maintains CPR certification.

Trains in “De-escalation” annually.

Attends all annual in-service education as required.

Maintains C.N.A certification.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in any of the social sciences preferred.

Experience in working with mentally ill clients.

Excellent communication skills.

External Candidate must have an active C.N.A License.

Schedule: Union, Full Time evenings, 72 hours per pay period, every other weekends scheduled on the Kent Unit at Butler Hospital.
