Job Summary:

The Care New England Supply Chain Assistant Buyer will provide analytical and related business support to the supply chain team, driving best in class service while optimizing cost and inventory. Incumbent will work to resolve various issues and discrepancies, partnering with multiple departments to ensure customer satisfaction.   The assistant buyer partners and supports the buyer and customers on a daily basis for ordering, cost, quotes, managing back orders, and communicating to our customers.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

Ensures purchase requisitions and orders are processed correctly and timely. Ast. Buyer is the 1st line of defense with the buyer and manages the supplier relationship on a daily basis.  Buyer helps manage the cost, timely delivery, quality, recalls, and overall partnership with the hospitals.

Mangages categories for the supply chain team such as IT, supplies, furniture, P-Cards, and others as required.

Identifies backordered or out of stock materials and provides suitable substitutes and communicates to the requestor.  Partners with buyer on managing inventory with the shipping & receiving team.

Analyzes vendor and/or product pricing, providing buyers with analysis and recommendation to support analysis.

Partners with accounts payable and resolves pricing and billing discrepancies. 

Researches and provides recommendations for materials and equipment purchases.

Participates in process improvement initiatives.

Performs other related duties as assigned or required. Provides additional support as needed

Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration or related field.

1 to 2 years experience in Buying or Supply Chain Management.

Experience in a buying system such as Infor/Lawson or an equivalent system.

Must have skills and abilities in negotiations, analytical skills, problem solving, interpersonal skills, written and verbal communication, team leadership and participation, general math and financial analysis, ability to manage multiple projects.

Ability to read and understand basic business terms in a quote or proposal.

Proficient in computers and MS office, Excel.
