The Director of Operations (MAP) carries out supervision of personnel and workflow of MAP. Responsible for management of MAP research program including research studies and personnel.
Experience with the management and administration of clinical research studies for patients with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias (ADRD).
This includes both medication trials and observational research.
Experience with studies funded by pharmaceutical companies, foundations, and The National Institutes of Health.
Should have experience setting up data collection procedures for patient studies including MRI and PET imaging, neuropsychological testing, and clinical measures.
Is in charge of maintaining the necessary staff of approximately 60 staff members including interviewing and hiring. Should have knowledge of payroll, and working closely with Butler and CNEMG HR departments.
Should be able to create and negotiate budgets with funding agencies, have an understanding of the science of ADRD and the treatment of ADRD, excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Oversee research operations and day to day operations of the Memory and Aging
Program
Serve as manager/supervisor for team of 50+ staff
Primary contact with Butler HR and will liaise with Medical Group designee in compensation negotiations, including salary increases/title changes for Medical Group employees.
Manage personnel/staff performance issues
Serve as primary liaison with industry sponsors, CRO’s, and vendors
Negotiate and establish agreements with clinical trial vendors
Review clinical trial contracts and budgets
Assist with budget preparation and IRB documentation
Coordinate grant submissions
Lead study start-up activities
Coordinate and execute site feasibility, selection, and initiation visits
Collaborate with program management, regulatory, and finance staff to launch new
trials and closeout existing trials
Serve as site Administrative Contact to provide data for BIRCH initiative
Observe all relevant risk management and infection control policies and procedures
and any applicable quality improvement activities.
Will serve as point person for change management impacts (e.g., EMR updates, Hospital policy updates).
Attend orientation and ongoing in-services education as required
May perform other duties as assigned.
Observe all general hospital policies, guiding principles, rules and regulations.
Education:
Master's Degree Required
Minimum of 5 to 7 years experience
