Primary Function
In this training position, the Surgical Technologist Resident will be responsible for assisting in surgical procedures, while under supervision, handling instrumentation and anticipating the needs of the surgeon while maintaining aseptic techniques to AORN standards.
Responsibilities
Maintain skills and competencies required of the Surgical Technologist Resident position.
Demonstrates working knowledge of service lines including use of specialized equipment.
Complies with customer service requirements.
Actively participates in QI programs.
Performs all other job-related duties as assigned.
Maintains and gathers supplies to perform job
Job Qualifications and Specifications
Enrolled in an accredited Surgical Technologist program. Surgical Technologist Resident is expected to graduate within 8 months from a Surgical Technologist program.
Job Qualifications and Specifications: High School Diploma or equivalent is required. A minimum of 2 years job-related experience and basic computer skills is required. Must be able to read, write and speak English. Knowledge and experience of normal and modified diets and carbohydrate counting and protein exchange systems preferred.
