Job Summary:

The Providence Center HealthCare Navigator provides support to all TPC Programs to ensure that clients are enrolled in Medicaid and renewal application process each year. Work closely with all TPC clinical teams and CNE Billing Department.

** This position is located on-site in Providence, RI.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Research and troubleshoot Medicaid issues and follow up with staff to ensure clients remain on active coverage.

Train staff regarding client Medicaid application and benefits.

Follow up with staff on any missing documentation.

Schedule and assist clients and staff with the process of applying for Medicaid when applicable.

Notify Billing Department of updates, providing reports on a monthly basis.

Provide orientation to all new case managers around the Medicaid application and renewal process.

Maintain cooperative relationships with Center staff, providing excellent customer service, documentation and follow up.

Maintain active Healthsource of Rhode Island Navigator certificate, utilizing Healthsource RI and Department of Human Services as a resource for Medicaid process.

Educate clinical teams around Medicaid coverage to include:

Investigate why clients do not have Medicaid coverage,

Verify and monitor eligibility via DHS website Communicate closely with Health Home Billing staff,

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Medicaid,

Identify required documents needed to complete Medicaid application,

Document in Epic in the FYI comment section and the appointment note section for any changes or updates on Medicaid coverage,

Document Quick notes as needed ( this will require case manager access in Epic.

Use the In basket system in Epic to communicate with clinical staff.

Attend team meetings as needed.

Assist Director of Intake & Patient Registration in the Title 20 Eligibility process and Charity Care for those clients not eligible for Medicaid. Follow up with staff on a monthly basis. Investigate if eligible for Medicaid and follow up with assigned Team.

Provide administrative support as needed in multiple departments (ie: back up Medical Office Specialists, translate if needed).

Deal with co-workers regarding problems in a constructive manner.

Accept and use direction and supervision.

Benefit from constructive criticism.

Treat consumers with respect.

Answer questions and investigate if answer is not known until resolution.

Attend trainings as required

Provide feedback to staff on the content of educational programs attended.

Attend mandatory in-service trainings and other trainings required.

Requirements:

Associate Degree required, Bachelor Degree preferred, with a business background.

Five-to-ten years of experience in related field will be considered.

Bilingual Spanish preferred.

Good, accurate typing and grammatical skills; experience with computers (Word and Excel) required, as well as excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Must be able to work independently and problem solve.

Two-to-three years' minimum experience working with Medicaid recipients.

Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and group environment.
