Job Summary:

The Providence Center Lead Clinical Therapist Emergency Services works on a multidisciplinary team to provide behavioral health and crisis assessment to clients at The Providence Center and in the community. Serve as support to Supervisor related to data tracking, training, supervision, and clinical consultation.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Perform a comprehensive psychosocial assessment of assigned consumers.

Perform in a calm and professional manner during crisis or emergency situations.

Apply knowledge of Psychiatric Diagnosis (DSM V TR).

Perform and record mental status examination.

Assess clinical emergencies, including suicide and danger to others.

Collect pertinent data from appropriate collateral sources in accordance with confidentiality guidelines.

Maintain confidentiality in accordance with Center policy and legal requirements.

Develop and present, verbally and in writing, a clear clinical formulation based on behavioral data and relevant theory while incorporating psychosocial and family issues.

Use psychiatric consultation and intervention when clinically appropriate.

Use knowledge to decide appropriate levels of care in order to refer to various points in the continuum of care.

Conduct level of care and crisis assessments to clients and non-clients in a variety of settings including homes, shelters, street outreach, etc. Response to active police / fire scenes required with safety protocols.

Collaborate with other providers, agencies, and individuals in the consumers' network of care.

Maintain knowledge and familiarity of mental health and/or substance abuse and other related community agencies.

Perform record keeping in accordance with Health Information Services and other TPC requirements.

Attend trainings, case presentations and conferences.

Attend mandatory in-service trainings and other trainings required for renewal of licensure.

Maintain cooperative relationships with Center staff, consumers, community agencies and the public.

Track and record data associated with Emergency Services and Mobile Crisis programs.

Provide supervision and training to established and incoming clinicians within the Emergency Services and Mobile Crisis programs.

Serve as first line clinical consult for peers while on shift.

Periodic coverage of general Emergency Services related trainings and supervisions (i.e., TPC onboarding, and QMHP group supervision).

Serve on appropriate Center committees.

Provide mental health consultation to other community agencies.

Requirements:

Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Human Services, or related field OR Registered Nurse (RN).

LICSW or LMHC preferred but not required. QMHP eligibility required.

Bilingual Spanish preferred.

Insured auto and valid driver's license.
