Surgical Inventory Case Specialist

Primary Function

This position is responsible for ensuring that product is properly requisitioned, stored, picked, and rotated in the surgical services stockroom. Surgical Case Specialist will maintain inventory and picks to support surgical cases on a daily basis and any add ons. Clinical knowledge and interaction with the surgeons, nurses, and OR team is vital to ensure proper products are available at the time of surgery. In addition, requisition product as needed as a back up to the Inventory Coordinator, accurately in Lawson needed to the buying team to submit purchase orders to the supplier. In addition, work with supply chain team and Inventory Case Coordinator to monitor par levels is adequate to manage inventory for the surgical store rooms and areas. Other duties include monitoring inventory as demanded by the surgical schedule.

This must be accomplished while adhering to supply budget and within time constraints, eliminating costly overnight delivery charges. This team member will ensure customer service, partner with buyer/surgical manager on all ordering, pricing, back orders, and management of inventory. Also this position will function as a member of the supply chain team partnering will all procedures, policies, and adhering to value analysis process.

Job Qualifications and Specifications

High school degree required, Bachelor’s degree preferred or an equivalent combination of education and clinical/surgical experience and a minimum of one years’ experience in surgical services. Experience in a buying system such as Lawson, or an equivalent system. Must have skills and abilities in inventory management, analytical skills, problem solving, interpersonal skills, written and verbal communication, team leadership and participation, general math and financial analysis, ability to manage multiple projects. Proficient in computers and MS office. Proficient in excel.
