Job Summary:

The Providence Center Court Clinician / Emergency Services Clinician serves on a multidisciplinary behavioral health team to provide crisis intervention, assessment, and clinical consultation both in the community and within the Providence District Court system. This position offers a unique blend of court-based and community emergency service work, with a focus on behavioral health evaluation, intervention, and diversion efforts.

Duties and Responsibilities:

District Court Responsibilities (9:00 AM – 1:00 PM):

Provide mental health and psychosocial assessments within the Providence District Court House.

Offer clinical recommendations regarding alternatives to incarceration.

Maintain ongoing contact with clients and community service providers to ensure alternative placements are secured.

Deliver consultation and training to court personnel and agencies including law enforcement, Justice Assistance, Domestic Violence Outreach Workers, the Public Defender's Office, and other stakeholders.

Support clients in strengthening support networks and navigating community-based services.

Maintain strict client confidentiality within the court context.

Assist with transportation and service coordination when needed.

Emergency Services Responsibilities (Afternoons):

Conduct crisis and level-of-care assessments for clients and non-clients in diverse settings (e.g., homes, shelters, street outreach, and police/fire scenes).

Evaluate clinical emergencies, including risk of harm to self or others.

Utilize DSM-5-TR for psychiatric diagnosis and clinical formulation.

Collaborate with providers and community resources in the client’s care network.

Respond rapidly to behavioral health crises using established safety protocols.

Administrative & Collaborative Duties:

Serve as a support to the supervisor for training, supervision, data tracking, and clinical consultation.

Provide training to court staff and other external partners as needed.

Complete all required documentation, billing forms, and data collection in accordance with Thrive and The Providence Center standards.

Participate in staff meetings, trainings, case presentations, and continuing education to maintain licensure and enhance skills.

Maintain collaborative relationships with staff, clients, and community agencies.

Serve on committees and provide consultation to external agencies when appropriate.

Other duties as required or assigned.

Requirements:

Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Human Services, or a related field or Registered Nurse (RN).

Eligible for Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) status.

LICSW or LMHC preferred.

Bilingual Spanish speakers strongly preferred.

Position may require driving; valid driver's license, auto registration, current inspection, and insurance required.
