Facilities Safety and Compliance Manager

Job Summary:

The Providence Center Facilities Safety and Compliance Manager will lead our health and safety program throughout the organization. Develop, implement and administer programs and procedures which maintain a safe and healthy environment for the Center’s clients, visitors and staff.

Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations relating to the Center’s activities, as well as the Center’s safety policies and procedures. Assist in maintaining licensing and accreditation standards.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide leadership for the Center’s health and safety program.

Develop and coordinate center-wide health and safety trainings.

Perform site inspections. Identify and correct potential hazards.

Maintain compliance reports, including fire drills, first aid logs, AED logs, temperature logs, emergency procedure logs

Ensure compliance with all BHDDH licensing, CARF safety regulations and RIDE regulations.

Maintain files for BHDDH licensing and CARF Accreditation.

Develop and administer emergency and disaster preparedness program.

Ensure compliance with all OSHA and EPA regulations.

Track inventory of hazardous substances – SDS books.

Ensure compliance with VA regulations.

Maintain compliance reports for VA accreditation.

Act as Chair of Safety Committee.

Act as member of CARF Accreditation Committee.

Coordinate inspections for fire alarm equipment, sprinklers, extinguishers, elevators, boilers, backflow preventers, commercial kitchen equipment.

Conduct safety trainings to educate staff about safety policies, laws and practices.

Review policies, procedures and programs for compliance with regulatory standards.

Ensure completion of internal audits to meet various regulatory, licensing and accreditation requirements.

Attend trainings and conferences. Provide feedback to staff on the content of educational programs attended.

Maintain cooperative relationships with Center staff, local agencies, consumers and the public.

Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements:

Associates degree and/or experience in facilities health and safety preferred.

Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information.

Must be a motivated self-starter with excellent interpersonal, time management and organizational skills.

Must be able to perform multiple tasks.

Must possess excellent oral and written communication and proofreading skills, have exceptional computer skills, and the ability to work with a variety of people.

Accurate typing skills required, as well as ability to compose, format and type a variety of documents. Must be proficient in Word, Excel, Power Point, and Publisher.
